A unique look behind the ledge!
The Cheese Market has started again and so have the guided tours in the old Council Chamber! Also step inside the beautifully painted room where justice was once administered. This historic Aldermen’s Chamber, famous for the wallpaper painted in 1738 by Willem Rave with scenes of ‘the coronation of Saul’ and ‘Solomon’s first right’, is largely in its original state. Exclusively during the Cheese Market Days in July and August, our experienced guide Guido van Meerbeek tells fascinating stories about this monumental room.
